Privacy policy
Your screening answers stay on your device. We keep only what you choose to send us.
Torchpass is a free screening tool. This page explains, in plain language, what information it handles and what happens to it.
Your screening answers
Your answers to the screening questions are saved only in the browser on your device, so you can pick up where you left off. They are not sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes them.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage counts. If enabled, we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count things like page visits and how many screenings were finished. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
- Forms you choose to send. Torchpass has three forms. Each one sends only what you type, plus the page it came from.
- Feedback: your rating, comments and, if you add it, your email. Feedback sent from the results page also includes your overall score, site type and screening path, with no names attached.
- Suggest an edit or topic: your message and, if you add it, your email.
- Newsletter: your email address, your consent and the date you signed up.
How we use it
Only to reply to you, to send the newsletter you asked for, and to improve Torchpass. We never sell your information or share it for advertising. If Torchpass is ever sold or merged, this promise carries over to the new owner, or we'll tell you first and give you the chance to have your information deleted.
How long we keep it
We keep form messages only as long as we need them to reply to you and improve Torchpass. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
Where it's stored
Form submissions are stored with Netlify, our website host. Newsletter signups are stored with MailerLite, our email provider. Anonymous usage counts are stored with GoatCounter. Each one keeps data secure and uses it only to provide its service to us.
Browser storage
Torchpass uses your browser's local storage to remember your screening progress, your theme choice and whether you've seen the intro animation. Nothing in it is sent to us.
Your choices
- Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete anything you've sent. Email alex.r.dussault@gmail.com or use the feedback form, and we'll take care of it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date below.
